What is menopause Menopause is defined as a stage in a woman’s life in which she no longer experiences menstrual periods or monthly flow. Though it is a gradual process that can take up to some years before it completely comes to an end. Women from ages of fifty and above will start noticing some signs that indicate that their time of fruitfulness is gradually drawing to an end. Causes of menopause Every woman has what is called ovaries which stores eggs and during menstruation she releases matured eggs that were not fertilized. but at a certain age like from 45 years her ovaries will gradually stop releasing eggs and at a point it totally stops meaning that she will stop having monthly periods, when this occurs we will say that the woman is experiencing Menopause. Types of Menopause Natural Menopause This is the normal and gradual ending of fertility (when the ovaries gradually stops releasing egg ) which is not brought about by any medical conditions. Premature Menopause It occurs when a woman stop having menstrual flow before the age of 40, it is called premature because any woman below 40 should still be releasing eggs so see your doctor if your are noticing such. Induced Menopause This is caused because of certain medical conditions like cancer whereby her ovaries will be removed she will no longer have menstrual flow because she has no eggs to release. Signs of menopause and how to cope with them. Hot flashes: this is a sudden burst of heat in your body which will fade away and is replaced by a chill feeling, don’t get worried when you experience this just take a cup of water and always try to put on light clothes. Vaginal dryness: this occur because your monthly periods is no longer coming as normal and your ovulation time is seizing gradually, if you are not to comfortable with that you can lubricate you vagina with astrogel or any other types. Irritation and depression: this time you get offended easily and any little thing picks you up, just try to be calm and talk to any one close to you about your feeling don’t keep anything that will upset you in your mind always share your feeling it will do a great deal. Loss of libido: you will gradually lose your feelings for sex and this is because of the discomfort of menopausal signs, the solution to this is you increasing the love you have for your self try to be happy at all time and also make your partner your best friend am sure he understands everything. Sleeping problem: this time you might find sleeping to be difficult, just make sure that your room is well ventilated and also you can take something that can calm your system.



Don’t wear tight pant, nylon pant, or underwear that enters your crotch this is because they are capable of trapping heat and moisture into the vagina making it comfortable for yeast growth, rather wear cotton pants and underwear that can help absorb moisture and heat.

Do not wear wet underwear or pant, wash your underwear and spread under the sun so that it can dry very well, because wet pants will make your vagina wet and cold which is not healthy for it.

After bath gently wash your vagina and dry with neat towel, don’t put your hands inside the vagina so as not to introduce any form of infections through your nail.

After using the toilet is better to wash your rectum with water or you can use wipe but this time you have to clean from your vagina to the rectum.

Avoid using public toilet and if you must, try and put little tissue into the toilet before you use this will avoid toilet water from splashing into your vagina.

Excessive intake of sugary snacks and drink encourages yeast growth so limit them.

Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so as to have enough immunity to resist infections.

Make water your closest friend because it helps to flush away dirt from the system.

Try to urinate frequently so as to free your bladder from infection.

When you have infection take antibiotics and also consult your doctor for better treatment.

Always clean the vagina with water before having sex with your partner.

After sex try to urinate so as clear any bacteria that want to gain access into your body.

Make sure that your toilet is very clean because they can be good breeding environment for bacteria when they are not kept clean.

Change your pad when you’r on and bath regularly so as to avoid discomfort and infections.
